Daniel Caffarel
Daniel Caffarel (he/him) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University and holds a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology, a Master of Arts in Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Health/Biopsychology. He has specialized in treating OCD, Pure-O since 2013 with extensive experience in Exposure Response Prevention. He is also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based psychotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Daniel is a retired Army veteran, also experienced working with law enforcement and first responders. His training includes extensive work in multi-cultural competence - he understands the vital nature of cultural context in understanding life's challenges.
Daniel is passionate about co-creating treatment plans that meet his clients' intentions. He views life challenges through a person-centered lens, while using an integrative approach to therapeutic interventions. He offers support to the full spectrum of human experience, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, and grief. His style is warm, playful, and direct - he believes that finding common understanding between therapist and client is integral to therapeutic progress.
Daniel works with adolescents, adults and couples, primarily in treatment of OCD. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, playing sports, live music, reading, writing, and comedy.
